Who’s Behind?

Hi there!

I’m Sara, the creator of Journaling Now.

My journaling journey began eight years ago when my mental health hit a low point, and I felt stuck in every area of my life.

I’ve always written, ever since I learned how to write.
I’ve written diaries, letters, stories.
But here, we’re not just talking about the simple act of “writing” or how good you are with a pen.

We’re talking about Journaling, and that’s something different.

Journaling became my lifeline.

It allowed me to vent and get rid of unpleasant feelings—what I call “rotting in my brain.”

But most importantly, it has allowed me to reorganize those thoughts, analyze them, and use them in a positive way for my self-awareness and personal growth.

At first, I scribbled on random pieces of paper and filled countless notebooks. Then I began to write strategically about my problems, projects, and future plans.

Through mind maps and reflections, I started to see where I could improve and make changes. As I delved deeper, reading books and blogs about Personal Growth, Time Management and Personal Productivity, I slowly start to manage the constant confusion I felt.

But, despite the benefits, the first year of my journaling practice was overwhelming and stressful. I thought journaling meant keeping everything perfectly organized, but that approach only led to frustration and a sense of failure.

Why? Because life is inherently chaotic and unpredictable.
Perfection is an abstract concept, not a reality.

If you expect that journaling will eliminate chaos and make you super productive, I’m afraid you’re in for a big disappointment.
Does this mean it’s too difficult and we should give up?
Absolutely not.

It took me a while, but once I let go of the idea of perfection and accepted that I couldn’t control chaos, I finally began to see the real benefits of journaling.

Journaling won’t eliminate chaos from your life, but it will help you manage your reactions to it—confusion, avoidance, sadness, apathy, and a sense of helplessness.

Over time, Journaling can help you make chaos a normal part of daily life, rather than an obstacle preventing you from living the life you want.
